The ever-popular Proton X50 has gone through some changes – none of them changes the way the Malaysian SUV looks. This means that the new 2024 Proton X50 will blend in with the 110,000 units already on the road in 12 different countries. However, the 2024 Proton X50 brings more technologically advanced features as well as a refined driving experience.
To start, the 2024 Proton X50 has over 20 areas improved for better road noise insulation and improve overall NHV at the same time. This gives the X50’s occupants a better in-car experience. A power tailgate is now available with the Premium and Flagship variants.
Inside, the 10-3-inch infotainment head unit has been upgraded with a new dual quad-core processor unit for faster bootup speed and loading time. This allows seamless operation of multiple apps concurrently in the foreground and in the background without any risk of intermittent response. It also features the popular “Hi PROTON” voice command and PROTON Link app, that features the ability to start the engine and cool the cabin remotely.
The 2024 PROTON X50 delivers the ideal combination of safety and convenience with a new High-Definition 360 Camera, which displays crystal clear images even in low light conditions, making parking a breeze. Should the driver still feel uneasy, there is the Auto Park Assist function to complete the task. When operating the signal stalk, a 3D view of the surroundings will appear to reduce blind spots for safer lane change manoeuvres and this safety feature is functional up to 150kph.
The 2024 Proton X50 is driven by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine generating 177PS and 255Nm. Paired with a 7-speed DCT, the X50 achieves 0-100kph in 7.9 seconds. The SUV also comes standard with SRS airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), as well as level two Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Cumulatively, the product upgrades to the 2024 PROTON X50 deliver RM6,000 worth of added value to buyers, but PROTON is maintaining the price of its SUV. The company is also introducing a limited-time Early Bird Package offering incentives of up to RM8,500 to the first 5,000 customers who register their new purchase by 31 July 2024.
