Peugeot Landtrek pickup truck introduced, check out that interior!

French carmaker Peugeot is not synonymous with pickup trucks but they want to change your mind. This is Peugeot Landtrek, a pickup truck made in the Changan Automobile plant in Shenzen, China.

The Peugeot Landtrek is not the company’s first 4×4 pickup, surprise surprise. You have to go back to 1938 for the first Peugeot commercial flatbed vehicle, the 202. It was followed by the Peugeot 203 after WW2, and subsequently, the 403, 404 and 504 in 1979 when it was officially named Pickup. The Landtrek nameplate itself was introduced globally back in 2020.

Bearing all the styling of a Peugeot, the Landtrek might just be the most gentrified 4×4 truck on the market. The brand’s signature features like the vertical grille with the Lion at the centre and LED signature lighting at the front and rear, as well as the alloy rims, are all designed to make the truck stand out.

The Peugeot Landtrek’s interior is nearly identical to what you might find in other Peugeot models, right down to the piano-style ‘toggle switches’ that provide access to all the various functions of the vehicle. A 10-inch HD touchscreen compatible with Apple Carplay™ and Android Auto™ offers seamless connectivity to integrate with your devices and automatic dual-zone air conditioning.

When it comes to interior space, the Peugeot Landtrek offers a 1,550mm wide shoulder room in the second row and knee space of approximately 50mm, ensuring the comfort of all passengers. The rear passenger seats are tilted 23 degrees to provide greater comfort also.

The rear bench’s backrest can be folded down with a 60/40 split and the rear seat cushions can be tipped up in a 60/40 split to allow flexible loading configurations. When folded down, the backrests can support a load of up to 100kg. Meanwhile, getting into the vehicle is made easier with seven grab handles in the passenger compartment for easier access.

The Peugeot Landtrek’s 360-degree panoramic view helps with parking and lets one drive the truck safely in narrow spaces. In addition, safety is enhanced by six airbags and an Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) that includes the Hill Assist Descent Control (HADC), which keeps the vehicle at controlled speeds, thus allowing the driver to concentrate on steering. Drivers can also count on the Lane Departure Warning to keep the vehicle in its lane via audible and visual alerts.

A 1.9-litre turbodiesel engine powers the Peugeot Landtrek. A six-speed automatic delivers the 150hp and 350Nm produced by the engine. A rotary knob allows the Landtrek to get into 2-High, 4High and 4-Low modes quickly, altering the power and grip to overcome nearly any obstacle.

To remind people that the Landtrek can get dirty with the best of them, the pickup truck is designed with a wading depth of 600mm, an approach angle of 29 degrees (depending on the session), a departure angle of 27 degrees (depending on the session), a break-over angle of 25 degrees, a side slope angle of up to 42 degrees, a hill climb angle of 80 degrees (on the automatic gearbox) and a ground clearance of 235m.

The colour line-up for the New PEUGEOT LANDTREK includes Ceramic White, Silver Grey, Magnetic Blue, Red Rubi, Rockstone Grey, and the model’s exclusive colour Olea Green, making a total of 6 colours available.

The selling price starts from RM 120,072.00 without insurance. The New PEUGEOT LANDTREK comes with a standard 5-Years Manufacturer Warranty with a mileage limit of 100,000km, whichever comes first.
