Honda Malaysia will soon add a whole new vehicle to the line-up. Called the Honda WR-V, the new vehicle will exist in the same category as the Perodua Ativa, effectively giving buyers another choice in the segment. The WR-V will launch sometime in Q3 this year and Honda Malaysia have begun taking orders.
In a nutshell, the Honda WR-V offers sporty styling, advanced technology and safety features, good performance and high ground clearance. The WR-V measures 4,060mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,608mm in height. The crossover also has a ground clearance of 207mm, which should buy the crossover a bit of time to escape rising waters.
The Honda WR-V runs with the familiar 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine, which generates a maximum power of 121PS and a maximum torque of 145Nm. A Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) with G-design shift technology is employed to send power to the front wheels.
As for safety, the WR-V gets access to the entire Honda SENSING menu. Drivers will enjoy Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Auto High Beam (AHB).
The WR-V also comes with the Honda LaneWatch that lets drivers peek at the left-side blindspot. Other features that come with the WR-V include Honda Connect, Power Retractable Door Mirror, Auto LED Headlights and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) as well as LED Front Fog Lights and LED Sequential Turn Signals.
The Honda WR-V is offered with the RS trim, adding a newly designed RS emblem, unique Front Grille and 17” Dual-Tone Alloy Wheels to its equipment list.
As a precursor to the launch, the WR-V is on a peninsula-wide tour to drum up interest and curiosity. If you’re interested to have a look-see, here are the dates and places where the crossover will be:
