Leapmotor has officially launched its all-electric C10 SUV in Malaysia, marking its debut in Southeast Asia. Designed to cater to modern families and professionals, this global-ready electric vehicle (EV) offers a harmonious blend of performance, comfort, and smart features. With technology optimised by Maserati and Leapmotor’s in-house components, the C10 delivers a balance of luxury and value. Over 60% of the C10’s parts are self-developed, which contributes to its affordability without compromising quality.
Leapmotor, already one of the top 3 Chinese EV startups, has delivered over 460,000 units as of September 2024. The brand continues to expand its global presence through its partnership with Stellantis, benefiting from their extensive sales and service network.
The C10 boasts a minimalist yet sophisticated design, earning accolades such as the 2023 International CMF Design Award and the 2024 French Design Award. It features angel-wing LED headlamps, stylish 20-inch Trident wheels, and a futuristic spoiler. The C10’s sleek and modern appearance is enhanced by subtle details like hidden rear wipers and a dynamic LED light bar.
Built on the advanced Leap 3.0 platform, the C10 is a D-segment SUV with dimensions designed for spaciousness and comfort. It integrates Leapmotor’s innovative Cell-To-Chassis (CTC) 2.0 technology, allowing for efficient battery space management, faster charging, and enhanced structural rigidity. Its 69.9 kWh Lithium-Iron Phosphate battery powers a Permanent Magnetic Synchronic motor, delivering 214 hp and a 0-100 km/h time of just 7.5 seconds. With a range of up to 477 km and advanced cooling systems, the C10 is designed to perform under demanding conditions.
Inside, the C10 offers a seamless digital experience powered by Leapmotor’s ‘Four-Leaf Clover’ E/E architecture. A 14.6-inch central infotainment screen and a 10.2-inch driver display work in tandem with Leap OS 4.0 to provide over-the-air updates and real-time system controls. Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and a suite of safety features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Emergency Braking make driving safer and more convenient.
The cabin is designed for comfort, featuring OEKO-Tex certified silicone textiles, power-adjustable ergonomic seats, and innovative air-conditioning systems. The rear seats fold flat to create a versatile space, perfect for camping or family outings, with a range of seat configurations available. The C10 also includes conveniences like wireless charging, USB-C and USB-A ports, and a panoramic glass roof with customisable lighting.
The Leapmotor C10 comes with a host of advanced safety features, including seven airbags and the Leap Pilot Level 2 ADAS system. Functions such as Front Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert provide added security for drivers and passengers alike.
Priced at RM149,000 during the introductory period, the Leapmotor C10 offers competitive value with premium features. After November 30, 2024, the price will rise to RM159,000. It is available in four exterior colours, with two interior options to suit different tastes. The C10 comes with a 6-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty.
