Honda Malaysia has begun taking orders for the upcoming replacement for the current Honda Civic, the 11th Generation All-New Honda Civic. The 10th Generation Honda Civic has sold more than 66,600 units during its reign. And Honda is looking to continue that streak.

The all-new Honda Civic is larger and wider than the outgoing model. Stopping the tape at 4,678mm in length, 1,802mm in width and 1,415 in height, this could be the biggest Civic ever. Its wheelbase of 2,735mm also promises plenty of legroom for the rear passengers. The all-new Civic also features the carmaker’s Lazer Brazing technology, which gives the sedan a sleeker roofline and a more rigid body. The LED headlights with Daytime Running Lights and rear combo LED taillights sports brings a new identity to the sedan.

Naturally, Honda Malaysia will be offering the Civic in RS guise, a first for the range. Black painted side mirrors, shark fin antenna, outer door handles, new trunk spoiler and 18-inch black matte alloy wheels are some of the body bits brought for the Civic RS.

Same engine, more power!

The all-new Honda Civic will still have the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, paired with a CVT, for motivation. Having said that, Honda has increased the engine’s output to 182PS and 240Nm. New for the model is the Drive Mode Switch that re-maps the ECU for ECON, Normal and Sport modes.

Another feature has been added to the Honda SENSING safety system and it is only available in the new Civic RS. Called the Lead Car Departure Notification System, this feature alerts the driver when the car in front drives away in case the driver isn’t aware. With this, you can expect the Civic RS to come with the following safety features under the Honda SENSING umbrella:

      1. Lead Car Departure Notification System (NEW)
      2. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
      3. Low-Speed Follow (LSF)
      4. Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
      5. Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
      6. Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
      7. Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
      8. Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
      9. Auto High Beam (AHB)

In addition to that, the All-New Civic RS also comes with other safety features such as Honda LaneWatch, Six Airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Agile Handling Assist (AHA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Auto Brake Hold (ABH), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Walk Away Auto Lock, Remote Engine Start as well as a new safety feature for Civic which is Driver Attention Monitor.

There’s little doubt that the Civic will sell well, and the first few spots are always snapped up quick. If you want to be one of the first to drive the new sedan, you know what to do.
