Mercedes-Benz Malaysia recently introduced the new Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC as part of its Luxury Showcase alongside the the Mercedes-AMG GT S 63 E PERFORMANCE, the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC and the Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 4MATIC Coupe. The Mercedes-Maybach combines the strengths of the GLS with the highly attractive exclusivity of Maybach, and as such is the epitome of ultimate luxury.
Vertical chrome bars and the “Maybach” lettering are the distinguishing features of the top model’s high-quality radiator grille. The air inlet grilles feature a Maybach pattern and have a chrome surround. The vehicle features 23-inch Maybach multi-spoke forged wheels, MULTIBEAM LED headlights, Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, and a panoramic sliding sunroof. Surround lighting with animated projection of the Mercedes-Maybach pattern conveniently illuminates the exit area alongside the front and rear doors. Also included with the Maybach GLS are power closing doors which pulls the doors gently and almost silently into the lock.
The vehicle is equipped with AIRMATIC package and E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL delivering a comfortable ride for all passengers. With MAGIC VISION CONTROL, drivers are provided a clear view thanks to heated wiper blades and wiper hoses as well as inching wash function, among others. GUARD 360° Vehicle protection Plus allows extended vehicle protection including burglary and anti-theft alarm system.
To allow individualisation of its impressive exterior, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS is available with an extensive range of paint options including Maybach two-tone paint.
In the interior, a new design for the seat covers emphasises the particularly luxurious character of the Mercedes-Maybach. The centre sections of the seat surfaces and backrests now feature high-quality diamond-pattern quilting with specific perforations.
The MANUFAKTUR leather package takes the feel-good atmosphere and luxurious flair in the vehicle to a new level. The finest nappa leather surrounds the passengers throughout the interior – from exclusive upholstery cushions for the Executive seats to the roof liner with striking topstitching. MANUFAKTUR Exclusive Leather Package refines the cabin further. Even the window frame is upholstered in the finest nappa leather. The side instrument panel covers on the driver and front passenger side are also clad in the respective equipment colour.
Exclusively for the Mercedes-Maybach, the colour combinations MANUFAKTUR crystal white/silver grey pearl and MANUFAKTUR mahogany brown/macchiato beige are offered for the interior. MANUFAKTUR high-gloss black flowing lines piano lacquer trim lends the vehicle an individual look. It blends in harmoniously while also creating exciting contrasts. Anthracite open-pore oak wood trim elements and brown open-pore walnut wood trim are also available as options.
The focus with respect to comfort features remains in the rear. The Executive seats with leg rests ensure relaxation on every journey. Paired with multicontour rear seats, rear passengers enjoy the same comfort benefits as the driver and front passenger. The massage function offers targeted relaxation and the ergonomically mouldable backrest contour promotes a healthy posture.
Ambient lighting with Maybach-specific extension to the roof liner adds a further touch to the incomparable feeling of sitting in a GLS Maybach and the sense of comfort and security. The sound insulation of the Acoustic Comfort package significantly reduces disruptive exterior noise improving noise comfort in the cabin. Thanks to the 2 USB ports in the rear with charging power increased to 100 Watts, passengers can quickly supply power to their mobile devices even during short journeys.
The telematics in the Maybach GLS have also been updated and now correspond to the next generation of the MBUX multimedia system. In addition to first-class entertainment, the telematics offer state-of-the-art ease of use. The Widescreen Cockpit forms a unit consisting of the instrument display and the media display with touchscreen.
The next generation of the multifunction steering wheel features touch-sensitive buttons that are even more intuitive to operate. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with head-up display and MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation making every journey easier.
There is also a MBUX rear tablet located in the centre armrest of the rear seat. MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment System delivers 2 fully integrated touch displays, each with an 11.6-inch screen diagonal and extensive connection to the MBUX multimedia system.
