Volvo Car Malaysia calls this newly-launched SUV ‘the Smarter XC60’ for the simple reason that it comes with a host of Google Services. Volvo’s collaboration with Google has birthed a built-in infotainment system complete with the new Digital Services Package. This means you can call up Google Maps and many other in-car applications with your voice.
Talking to your car means that you don’t have to take your eyes off the road and hands off the wheel, which improves safe driving. In addition, the Volvo XC60 is armed with the latest active safety system, called the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Features found here are collision avoidance, lane-keeping aid, run-off road mitigation, cross-traffic alert with auto braking, Blind Spot Information System and a surround-view camera.
The Volvo XV60 also comes with the Volvo Car App and Connected Services, which gives you control of several car functions without you in it. Through the app, you can turn the air-con on, check your car status and lock or unlock the doors, to name a few.
Aside from the new software, the Volvo XC60 also received cosmetic enhancements. The SUV now sports a new grille, new front bumpers and a new exterior colour. The XC60 Recharge T8, specifically, now wears the 19-inch six-multispoke black diamond-cut alloy wheel. The top range XC60 now pumps beats with a Bowers and Wilkins sound system.
Being a PHEV, the XC60 is powered by a petrol engine as well as an electric motor that enables the SUV to run purely on electricity. The SUV is powered by a supercharged and turbocharged 2.0-litre engine that produces 407hp and 640Nm. An additional push of 87hp and 240Nm comes courtesy of the battery. The drivetrain allows the SUV to accomplish the 0-100kph spring in 5.3 seconds, returning fuel efficiency of 2.2 litres per 100km.
The Volvo XC60 is priced at RM325,449.00 and bookings can be made online via Volvo Car Malaysia’s website.
