The Jaecoo J7 is an urban off-road SUV, which traces its roots back to Chery, will launch in the first-half of 2024. The Jaecoo J7, previewed today, is the Chinese brand’s inaugural model and will spearhead the company’s efforts in Malaysia.
Embracing the brand’s philosophy of “From Classic,” the J7’s aesthetic language profoundly interprets the charm of off-road style. Its front features a large, columnar grille paired with LED lights, accentuating the J7’s bold and sharp temperament. The minimalist body design, devoid of unnecessary lines, and a high waistline ratio, underscore a simplistic yet robust overall look. The split headlight design and floating roof are the result of the designers’ progressive and unique ingenuity, further amplifying the J7’s technological appeal.
Beyond its external craftsmanship, the J7 also excels in internal configurations. It is equipped with a high-performance 8155 chip, a 14.8-inch panoramic screen, 50W wireless fast charging, SONY sound system, and numerous other intelligent comfort features, providing a more convenient interactive and immersive entertainment experience.
Featuring technologies like laminated acoustic windshields and integrated carpet damping pads, the J7’s NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) significantly surpasses its peers, with cabin noise as low as 37.6 dB, creating an exceptionally quiet and comfortable cabin environment. Moreover, with a ground clearance of 200mm and a wading depth of 600mm, the J7 boasts extraordinary off- road capabilities, fearlessly tackling complex road conditions.
In terms of intelligence, the J7 features a “1+2+1” intelligent hardware system: one multifunctional front-view camera (FCM), two millimeter-wave radars (CRM), and one long-range millimeter-wave radar (FRM). The integration of advanced intelligent driving hardware and software enhances nearly 21 smart driving functions, safeguarding a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience for users.
The Jaecoo J8 was also previewed alongside the Jaecoo J7. Billed as a luxury off-road SUV, the J8 features a cutting-edge CDC magnetic suspension system with millisecond-level adjustment responsiveness. This system can adaptively adjust electronic damping, effectively adjusting the vehicle’s posture in real time according to surrounding road conditions, so that the entire vehicle is always in the best driving condition.
Adhering to the highest global 5-Star safety standards, the J8’s body structure also incorporates an innovative caged energy-absorbing design. With a high-strength steel usage rate of 85% and equipped with a 360° surrounding 10-airbag system, it’s a veritable “mobile fortress of safety.” Unique in its class, the J8 features a “far-end safety airbag” between the driver and passenger seats.
As per the plan, the J7 is scheduled to officially launch in Malaysia in mid-2024. As the launch dates approach, JAECOO will gradually unveil more detailed specifications and features of the J7 and the J8.
